Mar 10
Wednesday
We gather together one day of the year
We clean up our bikes and don on our gear
This is not for the ride we prepare for today
It's for the honour and glory of those passed away

So we ride forth with our heads held high
To remember our brothers of days gone by
We know not their names Or from whence they came
Written by Lillian Ford aged 91
Whose Husband served in the Navy

But we stand as one and together we pray
To give our thanks for our freedom that we enjoy today
This is our remembrance day
And what we do in our own special way.

Camping - Fazeley

camping 2009 fazeleyLocal Information about Fazeley for RTTW 2 2009 Campers
Fazeley Village, as it is referred to by the locals, is well within walking distance for anyone wishing to venture off the campsite and can be found by turning left at Drayton Manor Entrance along the A4091 Coleshill Road.
The centre of Fazeley is about 750mtrs (10 Min walk) from the entrance. It hosts three good Public Houses, one Working Men’s Club, a Tesco Express with cashpoint, Post office, Pharmacy, Bookies, Garage for fuel and quite a few Restaurants and Takeaways. The good thing for visitors is that they are all practically next door to each other.

Pubs and Clubs

The Three Tuns Inn
From Dayton Manor along the Coleshill Road Turn Left at the Island onto Lichfield Street the Tuns is 50yds on your right over the canal bridge. The Tuns is the only canal side pub in Fazeley serves real ale, food and has entertainment most Friday Nights. The Tuns is Biker friendly.
The Three Horse Shoes
From Drayton Manor along the Coleshill Road turn right into New Street the Horse Shoes is immediately on your right and is a small cosy real ale pub.

Restaurants & Takeaways
Entering Fazeley from Drayton Manor along the Coleshill Road the first restaurant you will see on your Right is, Ivory Tusk Indian Restaurant. On the corner of Coleshill Road and New Street is Spice, an Indian Takeaway. Next door to Spice is Fazeley Fish n Chip Shop. Two Doors away is Fortune Garden Chinese Takeaway. Next is Kudos Restaurant with a varied menu. Next door to Kudos and at Fazeley Island is The Peninsula Chinese Restaurant. At Fazeley Island turn right onto Atherstone Street. On your right and next to the Peninsula is Fazeley Park Contemporary Indian Restaurant followed by Wongs Chinese Takeaway

Post Office, Shop, Pharmacy & Bookies
The Post Office is on the Coleshill Road next door to the Victory Club just before Fazeley Island.
Tesco Express Shop and Cashpoint is opposite the Post Office and next door to the Fish & Chip shop.
The Pharmacy is located between Kudos and Fortune Garden, just past Tesco Express.
The Bookies can be found on Coleshill Road opposite the Ivory Tusk Restaurant.

Garage
Turning Left from Coleshill Road at the Island onto Lichfield Street Fazeley the Garage is immediately left.

Being a Fazeley Resident, my personal recommendations are The Three Tuns for best pub. It is my local after all. And, food wise the Fazeley Park Contemporary Indian Restaurant is a cracking place.
