Wednesday
I spread my hands to let them free
Wherever they fall that's where they'll be
Behind a stone a crack in the path
or beneath a tree

But fear not their fate for as they grow
They can't speak but will let you know

Written by Lillian Ford aged 91
Whose Husband served in the Navy

As they lift their heads in their special way
Ready to be picked for Remembrance day
So as the poppy shows it's face
Think what it stands for and give it some space
