An amazing model of the AFM kindly donated by John Fitzmaurice.

Model of Armed Forces Memorial - built by Peter Fitzmaurice, a former Grenadier Guard, who served in the early 1960's. Peter is in his mid 80's and has never visited the National Memorial Arboretum due to health issues. The model took roughly 18,000 matchsticks and was built over a 4 month period. The model is 22 inches diameter and 12 inches high and has been made using measurements on line and some that John took, along with a large number of photographs. Some of the figures had to be cut and readjusted to be as close to the originals as possible.

Peter follows RTTW and enjoys all the comments and photos on FB.
