Joint Statement from RTTW and the National Memorial Arboretum

Lifting of COVID Restrictions

Ride to the Wall (RTTW) and the National Memorial Arboretum have been working together on plans to ensure that this unique annual Service of Remembrance, in memory of those who can no longer ride by our side, can be delivered safely while enabling as many people as possible to attend.

We are very pleased to announce that we will be able to welcome everyone who wishes to remember the fallen onsite at the Arboretum at this year's event.

Welcome to RTTW

Welcome to Ride to the Wall

After an unusual year last year, and the cancelling of RTTW 2020 in the form we all know and love, RTTW 2021 is forging ahead, but at the same time taking into account any Government and local guidelines and restrictions.

Although cancelled last year there were many lessons that we learnt and some good positives which we will be taking forward and developing for this year. Last year the audience for the virtual service was astounding and this year there will be some 'live' coverage for those unable to attend.

For 2021 our processes for registration will be the same as previous years, although we hope the restriction on numbers will be adjusted as and when the roadmap changes. The numbers in place are necessary to comply with local guidelines initially and entrance to the NMA will be with RTTW wristband only. You will also receive a headlamp sticker for your bike/car which will allow you to park your vehicle, but without a wristband you will not be admitted to the NMA.

Our service will be as always, respectful, dignified and in keeping with our surroundings and focus on those that gave their lives in service of their country since 1945. At the same time I'm sure there will be many remembering those loved ones they have lost in the past year.

Although we still have restrictions imposed by COVID I am very much looking forward to joining you all in October as we remember together as one big family.

My priority once again this year as Founder of Ride to the Wall is the safety of you all first and foremost also not to put the general public at unnecessary risk.

Best wishes.

Merchandise News

Welcome back to registration and merchandise for 2021. With prayers said and fingers crossed we will be holding a live event on Saturday 2 October although, at this moment in time, the numbers will be limited to 4000, so the first 4000 to register will be able to attend. Should that number rise in the coming months we will, of course, let you know.

Once again, if you order your t-shirt with registration then you will get it at the reduced price of £11. Most stock has been replenished and don't forget your white t-shirts for those sunny days which will be here.

Hopefully you will all be as generous this year as you were last year in our merchandising store and we look forward to serving you.

Stay safe and keep healthy.
